Local families have fun with junk this half term at The Lowry

Last week we had an action packed half term at The Lowry as over 200 local children and their families made a huge mess creating characters from their favourite stories out of recycled materials, old junk and rubbish!

Getting creative with discarded objects and turning them into fantastic, exciting works of art, these up-cycling workshop were loads of fun and interactive for the whole family.

Dylan aged 8 from Salford said ‘I made something really good out of old rubbish. It was a lot of fun, I think I’ll do it at home too!’

We also had lots of budding actors and actresses join us for the week. Using drama and theatre as their weapon of choice, children and their families explored the world of The Gruffalo and even met a very friendly Tiger over a cup of Tea!

Sam, a parent from Weaste said ‘It’s really nice to have something fun and creative to do during Half term that we can do together as a family’

So after a busy week of Half Term action, we’re slowly recovering and getting ready for the Easter Holidays, as we have a special visit from The Gruffalo to Salford, we can’t wait. See you soon!
