Something For The Weekend: Fri 23 – Sun 1 June

1. Jimmy Carr – Sat 31 May

Jimmy’s been described as ‘the hardest working man in comedy’. Which, let’s face facts, is not that impressive. It’s like being the ‘Tallest Dwarf’ or the ‘Healthiest Glaswegian’. Really not that big a deal.

Funny Business is Jimmy’s brand new stand up show. Come for the witty and incisive musings on the human condition; stay for the knob gags.

2. Chris and Pui Roadshow – Sun 1 June

CBeebies’ favourite double act is bringing songs, rhymes, comedy sketches and lots of joining in for all the family.

Poor Old MacDonald has recklessly lost his animals! Please help Chris and Pui find them and meet Incy, Humpty, the Duke of York, King Cole and – “oh my woolly word!” – Little Bo Peep along the way.

You are invited to bring your teddies or favourite character toys but please hang on to them!

Sing, laugh and join in with Chris and Pui.

3. Imperial War Museum North – Amazing Animals Week – Until Sat 31 May

11am – 12.30pm and 2 – 3.30pm in the Learning Studio.

Discover incredible stories of animals during war time, from message carrying pigeons to strong horses and brave rescue dogs. Get crafty and make your own creature to take home.
