Game On for Manchester Day Parade!

Salford people and Lowry volunteers and staff are busy getting ready for The Lowry’s first experience of Manchester Day Parade on Sunday 14 June. The theme of the parade is Game On! and we’ll be adding a special Lowry twist, working with artists Hannah Bold and Ben Cook.

Over the past few weeks, local people have been coming to The Lowry to develop the idea for our entry and Hannah has been turning these ideas into designs for amazing costumes, head-dresses and puppets. Now we’re under starter’s orders to get messy and create our artwork!

Once we’ve finished making, we’ll be having fun practising wearing our costumes and learning some choreography for the parade.

We’re excited to be joining around 2,000 other performers and artists to parade through the heart of Manchester on Sunday 14 June. This will be The Lowry’s first entry in Manchester Day Parade and we’re looking forward to joining groups and organisations from across Greater Manchester to enjoy the sights and sounds of the day. Please give us a wave as we go by!
