Ok so we’re not quite star gazing when we’re looking to the skies this week at the Quays. But there will be something pretty amazing taking flight.
From Tue 14 July – Sat 18 July Salford Quays’ skyline will be illuminated by a 10 story-high interactive sculpture called Mini Burble. The sculpture is created by London based artist collective Umbrellium and Quays Culture are the driving force bringing it to our doorstep. And as if Mini Burble isn’t enough to get excited about, Salford’s very own Honour Choir will re-launch for a special performance on Tue 14 July at 9pm.
In 2014, 350 local singers were joined to create a choir for a one off performance called Honour. Their hair raising performance was set against illuminations from another Quays Culture project which commemorated WW1. One year on, the aptly named Honour Choir have re-launched. The 80 strong independent choir is directed by Jeff Borradaile, a full-time professional choral leader, who conducted the original Honour performance.
All the events are completely FREE and more information on all the activities happening alongside Mini Burble can be found here.
