When couples come on a wedding site visit one of the most frequently asked questions is ‘where are the best locations for wedding photographs’.
If you’re a frequent visitor to The Lowry, you’ll know the building well, but for those who don’t, it’s an iconic building located within the media hub that is now Salford Quays. The outer walls are made of glass – 5,263 sq metres to be exact! There are a number of floors, mezzanines, walkways – and the interior walls stand out with vibrant colours and textures. And it’s these in-house features that provide incredible artistic backdrops for your wedding photography.
After a stand out group shot? The internal Hexagon Bridge is ideal, or for a dramatic couple image head to the stairways outside the Lyric Theatre for vibrant colour and low level lighting. There’s also the Galleries to take advantage of and even quirky escalator photographs have been known to be taken. Then of course, there’s always the iconic theatre shot! Being a very busy theatre unfortunately means that it’s not always possible, but we will always try our very best to get you in.
For the outside photos there are a variety of locations. On one side of the building a tree lined walkway runs alongside the flowing water, whilst opposite you’ll find a variety of iconic buildings – Coronation Street, ITV, Blue Peter Garden and the Imperial War Museum. Then as night-time falls, the entire area lights up with colourful neon lighting. All of this is visible from the glass walls of the Compass Room – step outside to the balcony and get the vibrant glow of MediaCityUK in the background.
