Frozen Light have been regular visitors to The Lowry in recent years.
They make incredible theatre for audiences with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities – of all the work presented by The Lowry their productions have the most immediate and obvious impact on their audiences – and their visits are always very special for us.
They should have been returning to us in January 2021 but because their audiences are particularly vulnerable they have decided to suspend all touring until its completely safe to do so.
They’ve started this regular podcast to keep in touch with their audiences and their families – but its also of interest to anyone who values the unique way that the Arts can connect and move people.
While everyone is focused on re-opening the West End and getting shows back on stage – its worth remembering the devastating effect the pandemic has had on our specialist community and education companies who’s work is just as important.
Its really important that funding is found to ensure that companies like Frozen Light are able to continue their incredible work. We very much look forward to welcoming them back to The Lowry soon.
